Education Program

The Quincy Public Schools and the United States Naval and Shipbuilding Museum have entered into a Partnership to promote the concerns of the Museum and the Educational Goals of the Schools.

The Partnership will focus on Middle School level Social Studies, and Science topics.

The High School level Social Studies students will use the Museum's Archives Center for research and other projects. Some of the initial partnership activities will include:

  • Staff from the Museum will work with teachers at the Middle School level to integrate its exhibits and programs into the Social Studies and Science curricula. Providing exposure to select groups of eighth grade students.

  • The Museum and the Social and Science departments will encourage the use of the Museum as an Educational Resource. 

  • Select groups of sixth grade students will tour the USS Salem CA-139 on scheduled field trips.

  • Middle School students will be encouraged to join the various after school activities or clubs sponsored by the Museum.

  • First Aid / CPR

  • Model Shipbuilding Club

  • Radio / HAM Operator Club

  • Electrical Shop

  • Tours of the USS Salem
