Summer Adventure Program
2002 Season

"Ready for a summer adventure?"

Are you looking for an alternative to the same old hum drum summer vacation? Ever thought about what it would be like to live on a real Navy ship? Want to make new friends and have a real adventure? Well here’s your chance! The United States Naval Shipbuilding Museum and the USS Salem are offering you a chance to participate in their Summer Adventure. You will live on board the USS Salem, participate in fun activities from swimming to seamanship and learn about what it is really like in the Navy today and what it was like for sailors 200 years ago! We will visit historic sites in Quincy and Boston. Cruise to Boston Harbor and visit Historic Fort Warren on Georges Island, we may even bump into a ghost or two while we’re there! An overnight camping trip on one of the Boston Harbor Islands is also available to the really adventurous.

Meals will be served in the ships mess and include breakfast, lunch, dinner and a evening movie with a nightime snack.

Summer Adventure is a opportunity not to be missed! Slots fill up fast, so get you application in soon. Please call (617) 479-7900 with any questions and for more information.
